John A. Ballantyne
Co-Founder, Co-Publisher: John has 25 years of expertise in special-interest publishing. He has been hired by publishing companies to turnaround or startup publications and drive ad revenue growth. He is an expert at magazine positioning, ad space sales and creating successful editorial readership. He has successfully developed special interest magazines in the travel, real estate, electronic, and airline in-flight categories. He is a NC pleasure powerboat owner and owns homes in Greensboro and Beaufort, NC. Starting a boating special interest magazine is a life long dream come true for John.

Kenneth H. Ballantyne
Co-Founder, President: Ken has 27 years of marketing/sales and general management experience and expertise. Ken has been hired by struggling businesses to turn them around. He has done this successfully in a number of small to medium sized companies. He grew up sailing in Long Island Sound, builds plank-on-frame fighting sail model ships and owns a summer home in Thousand Island Park, NY in the St. Lawrence River.

Nicole Crews,
Editor In Chief, is a native North Carolinian who has lived, worked and boated all the way from her family home on High Rock Lake to the Greek Isles, the Hawaiian Archipelago, Coastal California, the Baja Peninsula and the many waters of Southeast Asia. She has made her living as a lifestyle writer and editor for over eighteen years and five years ago came back to the Old North State and helped launch NCboatinglifestyle with the Ballantyne Family of Ballantyne Publishing. She has written for Men's Review Magazine, Country Inns Magazine, Health & Fitness, Home Style, Gusto, Avalon Travel Publishing, the television shows Home Fashion Report and Golf TV as well as various daily and weekly newspapers including the Savannah News-Press, Creative Loafing, the Greensboro News & Record, the Atlanta Journal & Constitution and the Honolulu Advertiser, among others.
